God Still Performs Miracles Where Israel Is Concerned

Dear Friends,
God is fulfilling His prophetic Word as never before in Israel today. Thousands of years ago, God spoke to the prophet Ezekiel and told him that the dry bones he saw in his vision represented Israel devoid of hope (Ezekiel 37:11). But God promised Ezekiel that Israel's despair would not last, that He would one day restore the scattered nation back to the Land of Israel. How encouraging to know that God kept His word and that Israel, reborn in 1948, has become since then, an incredible nation - and this against all odds.
Yet, even as it is clear God has kept His ancient promises to Israel, the citizens of Israel today seem to be losing hope as their enemies crank up their rhetoric and use terror and threats to demoralize and, if it were possible, to destroy Israel. Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said this past Friday that the creation of a Palestinian State was but the first step in the ultimate destruction of Israel. He then called vehemently for the complete destruction of the "Zionist regime." Iran, it should be noted, is a global sponsor of terror through regimes such as Hamas and Hizb'allah, the sworn enemies of Israel.
So the question is: Can Israel overcome the challenges ahead when so many enemies are conspiring against her? It is the ancient Israelite psalmist who offers an inspired answer to the question: "I will lift up my eyes to the hills - from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth... behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep" (Psalm 121:1-4).
It is critical in times of trouble to believe in the God who keeps His word as evidenced by Israel's remarkable journey through time. Israel today is the clearest sign of God's faithfulness. In fact, this truth should encourage every Christian who calls upon Israel's God and who worships the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Jesus of Nazareth).
We offer what follows for your encouragement and prayerful consideration. May you find hope in what God has done - and is doing - in Israel today.
