HAPPY PASSOVER AND EASTER!

"His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him." —Exodus 2:4

Today is Day 1 of the eight-day Passover celebration. The Torah reading for today is from Exodus 12:21–51 and the Haftorah is from Joshua 3:5–7; 5:2–6:1; 6:27.
What if God answered every prayer with a resounding "YES"? Would the world be a better and happier place or a worse one? For example, what if God had answered Miriam's prayer as she stood among the reeds next to the Nile River where her baby brother, Moses, floated in a basket designed to protect him as he drifted in the water?

As you remember the story, Miriam and her mother had placed Moses in the basket as a last resort. The Egyptians had resolved to kill every single Hebrew baby boy. Miriam and her mother hoped that a non-Egyptian would find the infant and have mercy on him.

Miriam watched to find out her baby brother's fate, and as the Sages teach, while she waited, she prayed, "God, please watch him. Please make sure no Egyptian officials find him." Who should come along but the daughter of Pharaoh himself! The daughter of the very man who proclaimed: "Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile" (Exodus 1:22).

Miriam continued to pray: "God, please don't let her see him!" But Pharaoh's daughter did see him and she reached for the basket.

Miriam begged: "Please God, don't let her reach him!" Again, God didn't listen to her. Pharaoh's daughter did reach the basket, and according to tradition, God even performed a miracle to lengthen her arm so that she could reach Moses.

Miriam pleaded: "Oh, God, please make her think that he is ugly and no good." But Pharaoh's daughter was smitten and she decided to take Moses for her son.

And God said: "Good thing I didn't answer you, Miriam! Had I done what you asked, Moses would have drifted off and drowned. Instead he will grow up in Pharaoh's home where he will become a noble, a leader who can redeem Israel." And indeed he did!

Like Miriam, we don't always get what we pray for. But we always get what we need, and that makes all the difference. When we pray for one thing and we don't get what we asked for, it feels as though one of two things has happened: Either God didn't hear our prayers, or He has denied us a gift. But neither is true. God hears every one of our prayers. Sometimes He says "yes" and other times He says "no." But when God says "no," it's not because He doesn't want us to have good things. When God says "no" to what we asked for, it's because He has something even greater to give us!

When your prayers seem to go unanswered, think of Miriam standing desperately by the Egyptian Nile. Thank God for your unanswered prayers because those are often the greatest gifts of all.

Jesus Christ Is Our Easter

LITTLE EASTER from Voa Flor on Vimeo.
More information: http://israelinenglish.blogspot.com/2011/04/passion-of-jesus-christ.html

Easter is a Christian party that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ - Passover is the Jewish Easter. It is one of the most important parties of the Jewish calendar, that is celebrated by 8 days and commemorates the exodus of the Israelites of the Egypt during the reign of the pharaoh Ramses II, of the slavery for the liberty. A ritual of passage, as well as to "passage" of Christ, of the death to the life.
In the Easter, Jesus Christ died to pay for our sins and resurrected to save us.
In the Easter, we must celebrate the pardon of our sins and our salvation.

ABOUT THE PASSOVER AND DONATIONS

"The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt" —Exodus 12:13
Perhaps you have wondered why the holiday is called Passover. Sure, we know that the name comes from the plague of the firstborn when the angel of death "passed over" the houses of the Israelites marked with the blood of a sacrificed lamb and only took the Egyptians' firstborns. But that's just one of the many acts of God in the story of the Exodus. Why not call the holiday after the more glamorous miracle of the sea parting? Or maybe we could have called it "Exodus," which captures just about the entire story. Why Passover?

The Sages explain that every holiday on the Jewish calendar is not just about events that happened in the past; they are about events happening right now in the present — in the world around us and in our own personal lives. There is an energy that permeates every holiday, every year. Yom Kippur is a time of forgiveness. Hanukkah, a time for miracles. Purim, a time of joy and salvation. What's the energy of Passover?

Passover is a time of change.

The name Passover isn't just about an act of God that occurred thousands of years ago. Passover also refers to the actions of man that can and should happen every year during the holiday. All year long we talk about the changes we'd like to make in our lives; we'd like to become more patient or less angry, we'd like to make more time for prayer and Bible study. Or maybe we'd like to make a major lifestyle change. All year long we talk and we think and we deliberate and we plan. On Passover, it's time to pass over all of the thinking and skip right to the doing. It's time to change.

Remember how matzah was invented? God said to the Israelites, "Time to go!" The Israelites replied, "Great. We just need to finish baking the bread, prepare a few things, and…" And God said, "No. It's time to go now!" So the Israelites took their dough and made it into the flat bread we eat on Passover called matzah: "The dough was without yeast because they… did not have time to prepare food for themselves" (Exodus 12:39).

This is the time of year for doing the things we have been putting off because we didn't have the ingredients just right. If we wait for perfect conditions, we may be waiting forever. It's also no accident the Passover takes place in the springtime. It seems that nature all around us is changing, blooming, and blossoming. It's time for us to blossom, too! So, what are you waiting for? Make that call, make that change, and say "yes" to a new opportunity. It's time to go — now!

REMEMBER: GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH!

"The LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting" —Leviticus 1:1

The Torah portion for this week is a double portion, Vayakhel and Pekudei, from Exodus 35:11–40:38 and 1 Kings 7:13–8:21.
If there's one word we hear just about every day, it is our name. However, every time our name is said, it doesn't always carry the same meaning. Let's say your name is Jane. There's the "Jane" that is said sweetly and means "I love you." Then there is the "Jane" that is said sternly and means "You're in big trouble!" There can also be the "Jane" said pleadingly which might indicate that someone is about to ask you for a favor. There are many meanings to any name depending on how it is said!

This week's Torah portion begins with God calling out Moses' name. The title of the portion isVayikra, meaning "and He called." The fact that this entire portion – and the third of the five books of Moses for that matter – is named after this word tells us that there is a significant message within it.

The Sages teach: "Every time that God communicated with Moses – whether it was with the expression 'He spoke,' 'He said,' or 'He commanded' – it was always preceded by God first calling Moses by name, for calling his name was an expression of affection."

In other words, when God called Moses' name, it wasn't just to get his attention and it wasn't to punish him or ask for a favor. When God called Moses' name, it was to tell him that He loved him. Only then would God go into whatever subject was at hand – be it a commandment, a reproach, or whatever. First came the love, everything else came second.

The Sages explain that this deeper understanding of the word vayikra, "and He called," teaches us that God's love for us comes before anything else. God's love is unconditional and unwavering. As it says in Jeremiah: "I have loved you with an everlasting love…" (31:3).

Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, a rabbi and musician who died in the 1990s, often said: "We need to teach our kids to love God, but it's even more important to teach how much God loves them!" It's so important to teach our kids and to know ourselves how much we are loved by God. This knowledge cannot be underestimated. People who know they are loved by God know that they are valuable and loveable no matter what anyone else says. People with that knowledge will have the courage to do what is right and the resolve to treat themselves right. Moreover, they will have the love to pass on to others and give back to God.

So as you go through your day, remember – God loves you! More than any of us will ever know.

The work and ministry of sermonindex can be encapsulated in this one word: REVIVAL. sermonindex is not a organisation, business, or any attempt by man to build something for God. It is rather a expression of a heart burden to see the Church revived and brought back to holiness, purity, and power with God. "The mission of SermonIndex is the preservation and propogation of classical vintage preaching and the promotion of genuine biblical revival to this generation."

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man (Jesus Christ) must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him."
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:14-17)

Matt Haney: Jesus Christ is the Only Way to God (The God of Israel)

How is it that Jesus could claim that He was the only way to God? Why was Jesus able to point to Himself as the way when every other religious teachers pointed to rules as the way? Why was Jesus the only teacher that ever said, "Come to Me"?

John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

OBAMA: THE ENEMY OF ISRAEL AND FRIEND OF ISLAMIC TERRORISTS

On March 1, President Obama imposed the Sequester, a budget control act that could dramatically impact our military strength. Already, the Army is planning to cut tens of thousands of soldiers.
Yet three days later, on March 4, Secretary of State John Kerry announced $250 million in new taxpayer aid for Egypt's hostile Muslim Brotherhoodgovernment, and our government could give $1.5 billion more.
Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood government has implemented Shariah law, persecutes Christians, breaks its peace treaty with Israel, and obstructs our investigation of the Benghazi terror attacks.
Why are we sequestering our military while giving the Muslim Brotherhood an economic stimulus?
Today, we are launching a new campaign, demanding that our government cut the Muslim Brotherhood's budget before it cuts our own military. America must cut its budget deficit, but the first cut should be the jihadists.
