Some Palestinians mark this date to protest the establishment of the Jewish state in 1948 and numerous demonstrations are expected to take place. The Israeli National Police and Israeli Defense Force are preparing for the possibility of disturbances throughout Israel and the West Bank over the weekend.

Large demonstrations and so-called peaceful marches towards the Gaza Strip security barrier and IDF checkpoints in the West Bank are some of the scenarios the defense establishment is preparing for amid predictions that massive civil disturbances will break out in the Palestinian territories.
We ask that you keep Israel in your prayers this weekend, that God will protect His people and defeat the forces that wish to destroy them. Thank you for keeping faithful watch as a guardian of Israel.
